Designer (Part Time)
Are you a designer who loves designing websites that feel a little bit magical?
Wizard Zines is looking for a web and print designer to help make our websites clear, easy to use, and fun.
At Wizard Zines, we publish tiny, fun educational zines about computer programming, as well as interactive educational websites, posters, and visual explainers. We’re a 3-person team right now (all working remotely from Montreal) and we’re looking for our first part-time designer.
This is a remote, part-time position for regular occasional work (1 tiny project or a few small tasks each month).
What You’ll Do:
- Design new website features for our store and interactive playgrounds, working closely with us
- Help us identify ways to make our existing sites clearer and easier to use, and design those improvements
- Come up with little delightful touches we can add to websites
- Design fun educational posters that people put on their wall at work
- A little bit of marketing (design social media images, product images, newsletters, etc)
Experience and Skills Required:
- Making playful and joyful designs, with an eye for surprising and delightful details
- Designing websites (layout, buttons, forms, etc)
- Some experience with print design (posters or zines)
- Knowledge of accessible design
To apply, please fill out the form below with your best or most applicable work and we’ll reach out if we think it’s a good fit. The interview process is a 15-minute interview and a paid trial task.
